KARE Project Update – Waiting on Winnebago!!
After a great summer in Minnesota it was time to head south. During our stay in Minnesota we endured a number of thunderstorms with lots of heavy rain and to our dismay we learned that the leak in “Homey” had not been fixed, so our first stop was Forest City, IA, were the Winnebago factory is located.

Well, finally taking the time to finish our summer blog travels . . . now that it is January 2016 🙁 . Have been pretty busy up until now . . . so finally here is “Where Did the Summer Go? My, How Time Slips Away!!! Part II”. We left off with part I in Columbus, OH, from there we made good time to MN with a few stops along the way. One in particular was Clear Lake, IA were we stayed for a week while we awaited for our reservation date in MN. While there we found the place “Where the Music Died” . . . the field where Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson and their pilot Roger Peterson died in that fateful plane crash.

Goodness gracious . . . Have been so busy I hadn’t realized we’ve had no blogs on our travels and adventures since I posted “The Sweetest Place on Earth” of our time in Hershey, PA this past June . . . other then our Full-Timing Anniversary post Happy Anniversary to Us! The Second Anniversary of Our Life on the Road . So we’ll try and catch you all up on our summer travels starting with heading north through Pennsylvania from Hershey.

It was two years ago today that we drove away from our home and started our journey as full time RVers. Wow! Two years already? Where does the time go? Over the past few weeks, Bruce and I have done a lot of reflecting, both on our own and with our family and friends. The questions they asked us are similar to many of the questions that we get from our fellow RVers when they learn about our lifestyle. KARE Project Update – Visiting Virginia. Continuing on our journey northward up the East coast our next stop was Williamsburg, VA. Happy Camper has a cousin that lives in Newport News, VA just a short distance to the southeast of Williamsburg so we stopped to see them and check out America’s Historic Triangle.
