Let’s face it… Theme parks rock! When you can mix a day (or two or three) at a theme park with a night (or two or three) at a campground, that is pure heaven on earth. Here are some theme parks that also have a place for you to spend the night under the stars in your RV or tent.
Whether thrill rides, family rides or kiddie rides are your thing, you will find it at Adventureland Campground in Altoona, IA. They also have two pools at the campground with water features, a swim up bar and they offer trolly rides to the amusement park.
Beech Bend Campground
Beech Bend Campground in Bowling Green, KY boasts an amusement park, water park, drag-strip and oval track all in one location. It also received the Golden Ticket for Park of the Year in 2010.
Lagoon RV Park & Campground
From roller coasters and rapids to the “Rocket” — get ready for the ride of your life at Lagoon Amusement Park! They also feature a Pioneer Village, the Lagoona Beach water park and various events and shows for your amusement.
Silverwood RV Park
Have fun with Garfield and Odie at Silverwood Theme Park and Boulder Beach Water Park. You will find everything from raging roller coasters and insane 65 mph drops to a steam engine train and magic shows when you visit this theme park.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground
Walt Disney World is by far our favorite theme park and Fort Wilderness is our number one campground, hands down. Where else on earth but Orlando, FL can you find four theme parks, two water parks, and an awesome campground all in one place. If you plan to visit this campground, try to set aside at least a week for the whole stay and at least a day just to explore what the campground has to offer. Even then you won’t see it all, and you may find yourself planning your next trip before you even get home!
